Trick banners and deceptive advertising
Trick banners are a common used form of deceptive advertising. A trick banner is disguised to look like a windows message box, an error box, or some part of the program you are using. They have been used since banner advertising began for one simple reason, they work. They generate a much higher click through rate than conventional banner ads. So should you use them? Absolutely not. While they will bring a higher number of users to your web page, they will not bring qualified users and in most cases tend to make people very upset. No reputable company should resort to this sort of trickery. Confusing the very person you want as a customer is not an effective business practice.
